Thanks to its excellent location and many natural beauties. Surrounded by mountains from all sides – High Tatras, West Tatras and Choč Hills from the North, Low Tatras from the South, Veľká Fatra from the West and Popradská Basin in the East.
Liptov visitors can choose from a wide range of marked tourist routes of various difficulty. You can have unrepeatable experiences from ascents to the well-known scenic landmarks of Liptov like: Ďumbier, Bystrá, Veľký Choč, Baranec, Jakubiná, Salatín or Poludnica. You can also go on beautiful ridge hikes in the Low Tatras or Veľká Fatra. Passages through the Prosiecká, Kvačianska and Demänovská Valley are also very attractive.
Especially during the summer, it’s good to combine hiking with fun in water reservoirs and water parks. We recommend visiting the largest entertainment water park in Slovakia – the Tatralandia Water Part (6 km) and Gino Paradise Bešeňová (15 km), where we offer you discount entries. The rivers of Liptov offer the possibility of rafting and the Liptovská Mara water reservoir is popular for fishing and a wide range of water sports.
Liptov also offers ideal conditions for cycling lovers; from biker rentals up to and including the selection of specific bike paths based on the clients’ demands. The selection ranges from easy recreational routes linked to a sightseeing and Liptov landscapes tour to difficult routes in the high mountain terrain of the High and Low Tatras.
The beauty of the underground world of caves has been traditionally attracting thousands of domestic and foreign visitors every year. There are two caves accessible in the Demänovská Valley: the Demänovská Ice Cave and the Demänovská Cave of Freedom, which is one of the most beautiful accessible caves in Europe. There are karst phenomena in the Janská Valley in the immediate vicinity of the Demänovská Valley with world-renowned caves – the Stanišovská Cave.
